Mr Thato Hollauf holds a BSC in Quantity Surveying, an MSc in Actuarial Science and is an Associate of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (AIISA).
An Actuarial Scientist with vast experience spanning over the African continent, he is a Chartered Actuary Associate (UK) and a Certified Insurance Linked Securities Specialist (Cert ILS). He also hold an accelerated Management Development Programme from Yale University.
He is currently the Assistant General Manager at Continental Reinsurance Company, where he oversees the company’s actuarial function and life business operations. His expertise combines strong technical skills with a practical understanding of risk and financial management.
Beyond his executive role, Mr Hollauf serves as a Board Member of a Botswana Railways and as a pension fund trustee. These roles give him valuable governance experience and a clear focus on long-term sustainability and the interests of stakeholders and members.
He brings this blend of technical expertise, operational insight and sound judgement to the Board.
